In the depth of the fall
At the gate of the sun
The purple air comes from the east
To bless the town’s safety and peace
I stand under the gate
On the east side, there is light
And a vast shadow on the west
The wind goes through the gate
Through my hair and skin
Through my flesh and blood
And through my bones and souls
Through all the truths and dreams
And life’s pains
Finally becomes vain

This is a poem about a 'purple wind' blowing through the town that the narrator is standing in. Apparently the town is gated. It's a benevolent wind that blesses the town's 'safety and peace.'

But this reader isn't convinced he took away what you think is most important about this poem. What is it mostly trying to say or show or do? Do you know? What's important about this wind, and why does it bless a town and have it's... obscure effect on the narrator?

There's a chance it could be a drug reference. This reader is lost. But thanks for sharing, anyways. Hope to see you post more.

This put me in mind of 'Purple Haze' or 'Purple Rain' - not sure about the significance of the purple wind. It's like a snippet of something longer and would benefit from some fleshing out. But you do need to decide what it's supposed to be about. It's a tiny bit shallow as it stands.
