~

oh yes, the similar expressions.
presents locked up and
blindfolded love.
lost somewhere in a
frozen and lonely country.

where the few people
don't differentiate
between hate and love.
for the sake of life,
that fabled life.

oh yes, the familiar sighs.
about concrete pain,
that contentment with little.
smiling and a
stubborn tolerance.

Could it be we faked it?
in letting go and coming back
we may have just told
a goodnight story. to our
forsaken conscience.

I liked the contrast expressions and how they were framed. I was not so keen on the last line of the final stanza which read a little awkward.

This is a meaty little piece. This reader isn't smart enough to possibly understand it all. But the bits he clung on to were interesting...

... don't differentiate
between hate and love.

This reader is trying to imagine a world where this is so. This is an interesting thought.

Anyways, this is the third or fourth visit to this poem today. Trying to fathom it out a little more each time.
