If you have ever read anything of substance or given any thought to anything you have read at all, you should at least have some appreciantion for Great Expectations. Charles Dickens is a very talented writer and maybe if you paid more more attention to the smaller details, you will find that the metaphors and similies that Dicken's utilizes make the book beautiful and complete. Please, go read some books, and maybe if this wasn't the first book that you have ever read you might have understood it better.

Just from the spelling and syntax of your comment, it is clear that you illiterate to begin with. Of course, you hated this book. It probably took you days just to finish the first chapter. Learn the damn language and how to read it, and you may just learn to appreciate great literature.

I haven't finished the work yet, i'm on chapter 16. I would suggest you reread chapter 14, a short two-page chapter. Think about what dickens is telling you in these couple pages. This is real literature that you feel

Erin, the first thing is, this is the worst book you have ever been Forced to read. Go read some books on your own and maybe your opinion will be worth something. If you never read books on your own, then keep your comments to your self. This is a site devoted to fans of classic literature, and you aren't one. Now, I'm going to give you some advice: Get a good lawyer, and sue your English teacher! I have to agree with Larry. You are a mental midget! Now go learn to read and write, and then try reading the book again.

Hey, Erin.....don't listen to all these idiots trying to sound smart and telling you that you are illiterate....obviously, if you wrote your comment, then you are far from illiterate....These people are just trying to act like the enjoyed the book....I bet most of them don't even understand half the book...Some probably haven't even read it.....So you go ahead and write all the comments you want to.
Ok bud im in the ninth grade and i know how great Charles Dickens is and it is sad to see a dumb*** like yourself saying stuff when you can't even spell. You are obviously an illiterate like so many others before me have said. So go actually read some books before you critisize Charles Dickens, one of the greatest authors of all time, in my opinion.
GeneralD needs to get a life! how can you find this book interesting? you end up reading so much, and the plot isn't even interesting... it's nonsense!

GeneralD, you are the master! I agree with you 100%!!! I was sucked so far into this book. It is the best work I have read so far. It was amazing.

Erin, shut your mouth you moron. If you had any idea what great literature was, then you are entitled to an opinion. But because you don't...nobody cares what you have to say!

Now you are a good example of someone who should read cliffnotes for the help of understanding the literature as you go along. Cliffnotes are not invented for slackers, but for those who honestly have trouble understanding a piece of literature. But hey, I agree in one area, Dickens is not a quick read. (And I have read many books.)

well, for starters, i suggest that you learn how to spell before going online and commenting on a book. Also, your ability to understand a book: on a scale from 1 to 10 is probably about 1. This is a book about life and how most people in this world look at life. Read it again once you've mastered your 2nd grade reading skills.
Maybe if you hadn't been forced to read this book you would have enjoyed it. I agree with GeneralD - if you ahev not read any books on your own than your opinion is not reallly valid... sorry!
Obviously, someone like you would think the book the...how did you spell it.."worste"... I can tell you need some help based on you spelling. You found it hard to read? Well your simply not ready for Dickens. Go back to your Goosbumps.
This was one of the worste books iv ever been forced to read in my life!!!! i didnt even finish readin it because it as so bad! it was to difficult to understand and to hard to get into. i really hated this book and i hated having to answer stupid questions that didnt make any sence on it!!
