What a great idea. I'll nominate A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle. Been way too long since I read that (and I still haven't read the last couple books in the series).

Oh it has to be The Grey King by Susan Cooper, especially if we read The Dark is Rising for Christmas :)

I would like to nominate The Giver by Lois Lowry.

Ooo, I'll vote for that...eventually. Lots of people have recommended it.

Yes, it's been recommended to me as well. Heard her name a lot but never read anything by her.

I've also heard it was read at some American middle schools. Anyway, the blurb looks very interesting...I would probably read it without any recommendations had I just seen it on the library shelves. :)

Why is the nominating so slow? I would nominate something, but I'm just going to vote for The Giver anyway...

Edit: Can't decide if my English is correct in the first sentence. It looks wrong.

I'm not going to reread it, but i did read The Giver not too long ago and remember it pretty well, so I'd definitely participate in some discussion.

Interestingly mainstream. From what I can remember, those who still have not achieved those 50+ posts can still participate in the discussion, yes?

Yes, you can participate in the discussion--I would go even further and say that it's encouraged.
