When I first began reading 1984 i was confused as to where Orwell was taking us. As I have started to read ahead in the book, I have connected many of the points Orwell was trying to get across, into the society that we live in today. One of these points being education. All through the book you see the party making absurd rules, regulations and statements. Members of the minstry of truth are forced to change history everyday. All of this done just to control/fool the people. In my opinion George Orwell is trying to stress the importance of education.Education is the key to life.In the book the party takes all these actions to keep the citizens unaware. The more uneducated the citizens are the easier it is to manipulate and control the people.

You are speaking about a party that doesn't occur in three dimensions. You are speaking about an education that doesn't occur in three dimensions. I think that's a straightjacket of two-dimensional, imaginary existence. It is an exaggerated tidbit of the system of confusions known as philosophy and already for long in the dynamic museum of history.

I think we always get educated in things... Education always exists... People are always "educated".

What makes the difference is the curriculum attached to that particular "education" and what's made available to the people and in what manner.

Yes. But it must remain udefined if it is to fit within experience and the infinite possibilities it manifests.

Some people aren't as educated as others. They just go along with what everyone is saying and believe it.
This is why doublethink works because people don't know what is going on. They are only educated to a certain point. That certain point, though, doesn't give them very much to go off of, so they can't come up with their own opinions.
Yes, everyone is educated to some degree, but some more than others.
Just my thoughts.

Who's that non-occurring "anyone" who's saying? What's that doublethink? What's a certain point and what's more and what's less?

double think is the idea of thinking somethings not true but believing its true at the same time. its an idea that's not exactly suppose to make scenes, it actually a contradiction

I agree completely. If they keep the citizens "dumb" and ignorant, then there is minimal chance of a revolution. When there is such a small chance of a rebellion, the government is safe and can continue to manipulate the minds of the people to bid their every need. In the Ministry of Truth, everything is manipulated before their eyes but they are too afraid to do anything about it. They're the most educated of all, yet they keep everything hidden. That plays with the fear factor that government bestows upon their people. Almost everything the government does revolves around the education, or lack thereof, of the people.
