The quote "Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past." is mentioned in Book One, Chapter III, when Winston is thinking about the Party's control over memory. Since the Party holds political power in the present, according to the quote the Party would also control the past. If this is true, does that mean they already control the future by having complete political control in the present? :skep:

I believe that even though they control the present they can't control the future. Because you never know what might happen in the future. Because the party could have a downfall or a revolution could happen, but as long as the party changes the past people won't have a cause to revolt. :banana:
