Halloween this year
turns out a merry eve
with you

All I need is here:
an axe, a saw, a spoon,
and you

Kids knock on the door
– 'Trick or Treat!' – I smile
at you

Face blood-smeared, eyes wild,
I offer cookies made
of you

On the table lies
your scraped out and skinned skull,
and you

gaze through empty eyes,
candles flickering
in you

I presume the neighbourhood kiddies have been warned to keep well clear of your home this weekend.
Wickedly amusing.

Yeah, remind me not to go Trick or Treating in Dieter's neighbourhood. (Dieter or Hannibal?) I like the repetition of 'you' at the end of each stanza; it gives the poem a suitably creepy, obsessive feel.

Please let it just be a pumpkin...please...please...

You have a very nice blog, Dieter. :)

thanks to you all.
I'm quite a nice bloke.
You have to believe me.
Have to.
And I do love kids –
they have to be small, though,
otherwise they won't fit
into my oven
