This is an actual photo taken of a nebula, dubbed the "Cosmic Hand" or

Reproduced from Picture Poetry Contest on Litnet

"Hand of God."

For a little info about it see the link below.

God is All-encompassing, all light
more radiant than the nebula bright
It can't be God or a part of his limb,No.

That's too animistic to believe
a bundle of atoms dispersed in the sky
representing the Hand of God.

God is everywhere
why take a petty nebulous sign in the sky
as God or his digital image?

Stone Age isn't yet over it seems
Humans long for God or his sight
take Him for anything, even Man or his mitt.

God is Man or Man is God?
Let's not say that lest ladies get vexed
incidental images cannot be All-encompassing Truth.

a certain irony (maybe even a stab?) I liked the mingled questions of who is what. Sorry that I could not get the link up to perhaps appreciate better what you were getting Mazur. It's nice to see you posting in poetry.

I remember viewing the original thread. I think you have some interesting and valid thoughts being expressed within this piece, but I find the levity implied by the rhyming inconsistant and possibly misplaced. I also feel that a little punctuation and more regular, contemporary syntax (which has been compromised by the forced rhymes in places) would help imbue the piece with the gravitas of its essential truth. The repetition of "all encompassing is also, cosmically, a little heavy handed.

Still,

"God is everywhere
why take a petty nebulous sign in the sky
as God or his digital image?"

is rather good, I think.

Live and be well - H

What you mean God cannot be a hand, or any incidental? It can be anything you want it to be, or anything you want to exist. I like M&M's today.

How can a whole be a fraction or a part the whole??:)

Ha! It can't.

hehehe!! Thanks for giving me a good laugh!!:)

I usually keep awake until early morn then fall asleep until late afternoon!
Go out in the evening --usually no destination..maybe in 'search of God' but
can't find him anywhere even though I smoke heavily in that pursuit!!:)
I think Litnet is a good place to find demi-gods (in words of DH Lawrence) and demi-goddesses, isn't it??;)

lol. Thanks for the smile. You're obviously a seasoned night owl. Me? I'm sitting here, burnt out with a tasteless, tepid cup of coffee wondering how the hell I'll get through the day

kind regards from a semi-goddess!

Look, I am still smiling!! You are definitely something out of this world, a semi-godess to pay homage to!!:)

I realize you gotta go to work ...and have sleep too. Take it easy, life is just like that. Don't spoil you cuppa.... did you take it 'neat'?? :)

thanks for your good wishes, God bless you and I pray happiness, health and prosperity dwells at your feet! Amen.

Good and intuitive poem! I think you are deconstructing the idea of God. It is a nice idea.

I find this idea innovative and empirical and this interests me for that matter.

It's the whole hand. :seeya:

a whole hand doesn;t constitute the corpus...ie the whole body. How can you split God into 'parts' or term a 'part' into whole?? Definitely, a fetus is not the mother nor mother the fetus ... they are one until childbirth. This dosen't make either of them God who doesn't 'conceive' nor can be 'conceived'.....nor can be divided nor consolidated!! HE is HE (or She as some call it)and nothing less nothing more!!
