I was wondering if anyone come give me tips on how to detect a noun phrase and certain rules a noun phrase must comply with?

Thanks

"Si (COMO El griego afirma en el Cratilo)
El nombre es arquetipo de la cosa,
En las letras de rosa está la rosa
Y todo el Nilo en la palabra Nilo."

"If (as the Greek asserts in the Cratilo)
The noun is the archetype of the thing,
In the letters of rose we find the rose
and the whole Nile in the word Nile."
J. L. Borges
One of the greatest ironies against Roman Oratory and Rhetoric.

"A rose is a rose...is a rose...is a rose..."
Gertrude Stein

Try this. (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/internet-grammar/phrases/np.htm) Work through the pages, as there's something about different types of phrase, including noun phrases. Hope it helps - I find the whole site very useful.
