We have Thanksgiving in November. I'm thankful for many things, but the one thing on my wish list is I wish I understood what goes on in this world. I'm thankful for this forum where I can ask all the questions I've had all my life.

I'm thankful I discovered twitter late, and doubly thankful I'm already bored with it...

To you as well.

We just had Thanksgiving Canada-style the other day. One of our close friends here is from Edmonton, so every October we all wear our Molson shirts, cook a turkey on the grill, put a pan of bannock in the oven, and play street hockey with the kids. Always a good time.

Generally speaking, I'm thankful... in general.

Meh, life could be better - but it could also be a hell of a lot worse. I'm glad for what I have. Hooray for the status quo!

At my family's dinner, I said that I was thankful that I got all the good genes. My boyfriend said that he was thankful for Taylor Hall's feathered hair.

You certainly possess an exceptional pair of knees

I'm thankful, but I don't feel particularly blessed. I'm lucky that I'm able bodied, and relatively healthy, etc. Otherwise, what I have is the result of my own struggle and the support - especially emotional support - of other people.

Where I live many people are on the verge of homelessness, and I remember that even the mighty can fall. It's never really far from my consciousness that - I could fall.

I don't feel blessed either. I never asked for much, yet I have much less than I humbly believe I deserve. Then again, there's a chance I don't really deserve it, but I guess I should be thankful for having what I approximately need to get by.

Anyway, happy thanksgiving to those who actually celebrate it.

I don't feel that anyone is blessed. This is a problem I have with my religion. I hear people saying all the time how blessed they are, and it irks me. And now I'm seeing more than ever where I live, phenomena such as the price of food escalating, as the average wage is dropping.

A man I know, a single dad, who drives a bus for a living was laid off for several months. His unemployment compensation was ready to run out just before he was thankfully recalled to his job. But he said he was facing homelessness. His son could go in with his mother, but this man had no where to go. And he didn't know what he would do with the stuff he owned because he didn't know of anyone who could even store it for him. ...And this man is no bum, he seems very over-qualified to be driving a bus.

But I'm thankful to have food, even if I'm often too nervous to eat.

I understand what you mean and I completely agree. I see it everyday. In my case, I eat more when I'm nervous.

From my perspective, be thankful for that! It's uncomfortable when you go around with this slightly nauseated feeling, and nothing is appetizing. Ick.
