Happy Birthday, Mutatis! :)
An interview with Mutatis Mutandi:
*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
'Cause it's gonna be my birfday.
*So, how old are you?*
As of October the 2nd, 2012, 25 years old.
*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
I think it'd be pretty awesome to walk in a room and have this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCn0yFu0wy8) play.
*Are you male or female? *
Male, last I checked.
*Do you like red cars?*
I don't dislike them.
*If you owned the site, what would you change?*
I'd like to be able to use GIFs for our avatars. I have this really cool one of an eye that has multiple eyes and stuff within the eye. It's cool.
*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
Well, first, my username is misspelled. It should be Mutatis-Mutandis, but when I actually noticed I forgot the "s," I'd already made like 500 posts, so I stuck with it.
As for the idea, I got it from a Mudvayne song. Thought it sounded cool (I've used it on other sites before this one). That's about it. I later looked up what it meant, and that made it cooler.
*Which countries have you visited?*
One. I live in the US, and have visited Canada, which I don't think even counts. Not that Canada isn't a country, just that it's about as easy as traveling outside the US gets. I'll be visiting England and France in just a couple days, though.
*Which languages do you speak?*
English. I can say a few words of French.
*How do you like your home town?*
It's lame. It's corrupt, next to a horribly run-down and crime ridden town that is slowly bleeding and destroying the town I'm in, and incredibly racist. The latter two aren't mutually exclusive.
*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
In the US, it'd be in the mountains in Colorado. The weather agrees with me. Out of the US, somewhere in Europe. Europe just has such a cooler cultural history than the US, in my opinion. I'd like to be around it.
*Do you have any pets?*
Yes. Two dogs. A beagle and beagle/jack-russel terrier mix. They rule
*What makes you happy?*
Reading, music, movies, video games, certain narcotics.
*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
As comfortable as seems possible. After "sampling" different religions and philosophies (thankful not being raised as any particular religion), I'm comfortable with being an atheist. I can see maybe becoming a deist someday, though. Atheism may get boring.
*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
Daniel Day-Lewis. Not because we look anything alike, but since he's the greatest actor to have ever lived, I think he could pull it off.
Who is your favourite Beatle?
In order from most favorite to least: John, George, Ringo, Paul. (Okay, Ringo's actually last, but I kind of feel sorry for him. He's always last.)
*How do you like your coffee? *
Don't care, because I don't drink it.
*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
A bird. I'd say eagle, but they're scavengers. I nice bird, that doesn't eat already-dead animals. Maybe a talking one.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A comic book artist. Then a novelist. Still clinging to the novelist dream a little but.
*What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?*
8 pound catfish in a summer camp when I was like 10.
*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
When I was student teaching, the feeling that I actually accomplished something with a student, whether it be actually getting them to understand a comma splice, or appreciating literature. I don't think the latter ever happened, but maybe I came close. That's when I felt really great about myself.
*How did you meet your significant other?*
Haven't met her yet.
*Who inspires you most?*
My mom and dad.
*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
I've always had a natural talent for the written word. I seem to be able to write in a way that people can understand and claim is easy and a pleasure to read (hopefully that doesn't mean my writing is simplistic). I don't claim to be great, just better-than-average. I like to think I can occasionally be witty, also.
I'm also good at mazes.
*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
Oh, several things.
*Is there a selfless act?*
I think it would have to be done unintentionally.
*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
Already have. English.
*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
Too much to list, really. I don't think anyone dies without regrets.
*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
Middle school--7th and 8th grade of the terms "middle school" isn't readily used outside the USA. It was a perfect time for me. It was that stage where I had a really good bunch of friends, I could still talk to good looking girls even when I was attracted to them. I don't remember really worrying about much of everything. That all changed in high school.
*Do you get tired living life?*
Yes. Occasionally.
*Do you have a tasty recipe for life that you could share for a reasonable price? … Is it REALLY tasty?*
Go with the flow.
*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
Go with the flow.
*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
Need? Probably certain medications. But you're probably talking about something fun. So, I'd take a Kindle with a 3G connection. iPod comes in a close second.
*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
Sit on my *** and tell people what to do.
*What’s the stupidest forum argument you’ve ever had?*
I do my trolling on IMDb, so there're plenty. Many semantical arguments.
*What song is in your head at the moment?*
Theme from Terminator 2: Judgement Day (it's on, at the moment).
*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
A Dance With Dragons; the 5th book of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire.
*What is your favourite quote?*
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." ~ Buddha
Which comedians or cabaret artists do you like?
No favorite cabaret artists. Favorite comedians: Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Daniel Tosh, Lewis Black, Louis C.K., Mitch Hedberg, Bill Burr.
*Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
A tie between StLukes and JBI. Their avatars seem to encapsulate their personas more than anyone else's.
*Favorite threads?*
They usually end up getting locked.
What's your favorite sandwich?
Grilled cheese.
*What is your answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?*?
D. None of the above.
Who were some of the nicest people you met on LitNet?
Lokesanna, Neely, Vonny, OrphanPip, StLukes. Probably forgetting some.
*What are you wearing at the moment?*
Underwear, pajama pants, socks.
*Favorite poem?*
"The Second Coming" by W.B. Yeats
*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
Some mystery novel about a sinister magician. It was in grade school, and it was probably horrible. It's the first book that I ever opted to read over watching TV, at least to my recollection.
*What era do you find most of the books you read are from?*
Contemporary.
*Favorite TV shows?*
Family Guy, South Park, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tosh.0, X-Play, Frasier, Seinfeld, Workaholics.
*Which Forum members would you like to meet in person?*
StLukes. No homo.
*Last words you said out loud?*
No clue. And I mean I have no clue what the last thing I said out loud was. Wouldn't it be crazy of this really was the last thing I said?
*Last person you hugged/kissed?*
A girl named Addy. She was drunk at the time.
*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
Student, hopefully to be a professor, or later go back and teach high school. I like to be around literature.
*Would you rather be an educated fool or an ignorant fool?*
Well, I'm an educated fool already, and it's working out alright.
*What would you like to be if you could change your profession?*
Batman.
*Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?*
The cool one,
*What is your most outstanding feature?*
My rapists wit.
*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
Now do make this thing a downer, but probably my genetic skin disease.
*Which book do you wish you had written?*
Whichever book made the author the most money ever. I'd say Moby Dick, but seeing as how Melville died unappreciated and, from all indications, depressed, I'll go with the money.
*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
Maybe Ender's Game, Lord of the Flies, or Of Mice and Men.
*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
Homework. Always homework.
*Describe your ideal day, please.*
Just having a good time with friends and family, maybe a good concert.
*Favorite movie?*
Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
*Last movie you watched?
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
*How are you going to pick just one favourite painting?*
Seeing as how I don't know many paintings, it wouldn't be hard. Something by the melting clocks guy.
*Favorite painting?*
This one by the melting clocks guy, except it's this crazy face, and in the eye and nose sockets, the same crazy face, etc. It's rad.
Bowie, yay or nay?
Nay.
*Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?*
Batman.
*Something you want to forget but you never can?*
My dogs dying.
If you could relive one moment in your life whenever you wanted to, what would it be?
I seriously don't know.
What is the best thing that happened to you since your last birthday?
Graduated.
*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?*
I don't know what Room 101 is. (If you can't tell, my stamina for the questioner is lagging. I will complete it, though!)
*Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?*
Pursuit.
Tell us something scandalous about yourself.
I once had a hit and run. I was with some buddies of mine, one of which I picked up from the loval mall because he worked there. The place was closed, the parking lot (seemingly) empty. I swear I checked my mirrors. As I backed out, the van suddenly lurched. "What was that!?" I yelled, and my friend informed me it was a car. I asked him what I should do, upon which point he yelled, "Go!" So I did. When my dad asked me about the dent, I said I walked out to a parking lot one day and it was there. He said whoever did it was an ***-hole.
*How long did it take you to answer all of these questions?*
30 minutes? An hour? Hard to say, I didn't do it all in one sitting.
*Have you heard the news today? Oh, boy!*
Yeah. People murdered, war going on, etc. etc.
*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
Hey, hey, hey, smoke weed every day.
*What question would you like to ask to the person to be interview after you?
Are you currently intoxicated?

Well, you should be, cl.
Seriously, though, thanks.
And I hope the interview is somewhat readable. :)

It was somewhat readable. A lot in there about. Drugs. What did you say your name was? :D

Note on drugs in interview: Narcotics do make me happy, particularly the ones I get from doctors' prescriptions (and only those). I don't smoke weed. The "Hey, hey, hey, smoke weed every day" comment is a quote from The Chapelle Show, and was simply the first thing to pop in my head. I am for legalization, though.

Grilled Cheese, yum...
That was side-slapping Mutatis! I can't wait to read your novel - if it's as good as this 'preview', you'd be on to your own best seller for sure! (Or Blockbuster!)
Hope you had a great day!
