this is only the back story and my main story is still work in progress.
please tell me what you lot think.
The Title of the story : Master Of Elements: The Legend Of The Dragon Rune
Introduction
In the year 600 AD there was a war between two worlds the demon world which was ruled by a very powerful demon called Kael Thazad and the second world which was the mortal world. The mortals fought hard to push back the evil demons of Kael Thazad but in the end their defence was broken and then the demons spread through the entire mortal world. Kael Thazad wanted to destory the world and recreate it to his satisfaction but the spirit kings of the four elements intervened and fought against the demons and killed them off. The powers of four elements were not enough to defeat Kael thazad so they entrusted the powers of earth, water, fire and wind to the four mortals and the four mortals fought hard against Kael Thazad and pushed him back to the demon world and sealed him forever.
Year 1993: The Yanagi family
The ancient family of the Yanagi was one of the four mortal families which were entrusted with the element of fire. They were known as the most powerful clan in Japan with the head being an influential person and most respected.
Year 1995: Backstory of Yuigi Yanagi
Gengo Yanagi the cousin of Norio Yanagi, (who is the current head of the family). His wife was dying because she had cancer and her wish was to have a baby before, but the doctor told her she can’t have any because the cancer has spread in her body. Just before she was about to die she told Gengo in her last breath “that you must go to the orphanage”. The next day after the funeral Gengo went to the orphanage and to his surprise, the staff that was working there brought a boy down from the stairs and said his name is Yuigi; he is the one your wife adopted before she passed way.
At the compound of the Yanagi family Gengo introduced his adopted son Yuigi Yanagi and Norio said “Yuigi is going to fight my daughter in the ceremony of the successor, so Gengo train him well”. When he turned 10 years old his father told him that he was to beat his younger cousin, Nyuki who is the daughter of the head of the family in a ceremony of the Successor. He was allways getting bullied by his other cousins because they were able to use fire magic perfectly.
On the day of the ceremony Yuigi was to fight his younger cousin, Nyuki, for the sword of fire known as Morumatsa. Yuigi was a bit scared to fight with his cousin because he knew he could not use fire magic as well as his other cousins but his dad told him that he must not shame him or he will be in trouble so he had no choice but to win.
So the battle commenced between the two cousins. Nyuki had the upper hand since she was too powerful for her cousin, Yuigi. Yuigi was struggling in the battle and tried everything he had learned but it was not enough to defeat his cousin, Nyuki, so in the end he lost and was ashamed to lose to his cousin, Nyuki, who was 4 years younger than him.
In the house, Gengo was furious at his son, Yuigi, for not winning the Morumatsa sword. Gengo said to Yuigi furiously “this is the last time you shame me Yuigi” and added “you are no longer my son I disown you”. Yuigi was heartbroken when he heard his dad say those words to him and he was begging for another chance but Gengo ignored him and went out of the room.
The next day, Yuigi was on the bus heading towards the mountains. He got off near a village known as Kyoto and he walked towards the village. While walking towards the village, he fell unconscious in the middle of the pathway and some time later a man wearing a hood saw him on the floor he walked up to Yuigi and was immediately shocked of what he saw behind Yuigi’s neck. It was shaped like a stone and in the middle was a dragon with big wings and a long tail.
So the man took Yuigi to his Dojo and after 3 days Yuigi woke up and asked the man could he stay here for some time. The man said “you are welcome to stay as long as you like”. As time passed on, the man and Yuigi got know each other very well and became friends.
The man asked Yuigi “Do you know about the legend of the fifth element?” Yuigi answered “no” so the man told him about the legend of the fifth element and said” you bear the mark of the The Dragon rune “and added ”the bearer of this power is born every 4,000 years and that it is very feared element.”
Yuigi was 12 years old when the man started to train Yuigi while training Yuigi, the man asked if he had trained before Yuigi answered “yes I have but it was something I found it difficult to do”, (he thought to himself, it was not difficult- he was just too lazy to train.)
During the 8 years of training, the man taught Yuigi how to speak to people respectfully and told him “Yuigi always respect you, elders and follow their instuctions”, As Yuigi got to know the people in Kyoto and form a good reputation in the city, he wanted to protect them with his new found powers, but the man told him that he is not quite ready for it yet, Yuigi was a bit angry and said “I can save people if I want to, it has nothing to do with you”!,. The man told Yuigi calmly “ there will come a time when people will need a hero and I have no dout that hero will be you Yuigi, but until it comes, you will need to train hard in order for you to become powerful”.
As time passed, the man was impressed that Yuigi was improving his powers and becoming a mature adult and was caring and kind. The man told Yuigi that his 20th birthday was tomorrow. Yuigi smiled and said “so what are you going to get me as a present”, the man laughed and said “not that kind of present but one that you have been wishing for 8 years”, Yuigi was surprised, so the man told him that he would teach him the ultimate technique.
The next morning on his 20th birthday, Yuigi was excited that he was going to learn the ultimate technique, so he took a quick shower and put on his clothes and ran down the stairs as fast as he could, he saw the man eating breakfast as he was entering the kitchen he walked up to him and said “today is the day you teach me it” - the man said “well then Yuigi, eat up all you need because you will need a lot of energy to master it”. So they went outside the house and then the man told Yuigi to go and stand on the other side. Then the man told Yuigi to say these words “zill hang sang” and added on “morphiak ta da sirl” Yuigi said those words and moved his finger clockwise and in front of him a portal opened that surprised Yuigi a lot. From the portal emerged a dragon wich was taller than a building and had silky plates on his back and his face looked liked a chimpanzee. The man told Yuigi that this Dragon is the legendary purifier of demons, Yuigi asked the man a question “why will I need a dragon to help me purify demons?” and the man replied “because all the dragon rune users before you Yuigi had a dragon that was severing them, but this one is the strongest out of all of them and it has chosen you to be his master” Yuigi was surprised once more, then he told the man that this was the best birthday gift he had received since he had lived on the earth.
The man was happy that Yuigi has turned out to be the man he wanted him to be. Then after a while the dragon disappeared in to thin air Yuigi said to the man “what happened to the dragon - he disappeared? The man told Yuigi that the dragon had gone back to his world and only appears when you call for him, Yuigi took a deep breath before asking him another question “what is the name of the dragon I summoned? The man told him it is “kiggatalic”.
It soon became night time while Yuigi was sleeping, he was called by a voice in his dream so he followed it and ending up in a garden and when he looked up he saw a spirit of a dragon in front of him. The dragon was tall and he had big wings and a long tail which at the end was as sharp as knife.
Yuigi asked that dragon who are you? The dragon replied “I am the spirit king of the dragon element “. Yuigi was shocked that he was called up to meet the spirit king. The spirit king told Yuigi “you have been chosen defeat Kael Thazad and to do that you will have the power of my domain and you will be the contractor”. Yuigi was emotionless and said” why did you choose me of all people to have the power of your domain and be the first contractor? The dragon told him” I chose you because you always wanted to protect the people that were close to you and I know you will use your powers for good and not for bad and I know Yuigi you will be a hero the mortals deseve”. And he added “now go contractor to earth - be the hero I know you will be.
