Day cracks as dawn breaks
The long night splintering
Into shards of sunlight
This magic transluminosity
Birds shrill crazy demands
The ground pulsates into
Self-oscillation as the rats race
Into the oblivion of hours
Throbbing hum of metal dragons
Chased by monstrous trucks
An endless pursuit as the air
Fills with the miasma
Their noxious breath
Stench of diesel death
And when it finally happens
The rest skirt with courtesy
As the rescue vultures scavenge
Twisted crisps fused with steel

All will be forgotten at the office
Along with last night's dreams
The haven of familiar faces

Making everything alright

Hi MM. Not a bad effort this. I'd be inclined to cut lines 4 and 5 as they don't actually make much sense in context, and I think a little punctuation would help the reader. Some great images here, used to good effect though.

Live and be well - H

Thanks Hawk, though one through five set the scene for the madness that follows.

I was stuck in an officeblock for a bit yesterday trying to understand how some people come to settle for so little - while the accident was seen on the way home.

It's not about morning so much as mourning, the lack of time to grieve as the day is consumed by more important things
