I just finished reading this book and have to admit I am a bit disappointed.

I had read most of this book in High School and for whatever reason didn't finish it. I recently picked it back up and read it over the weekend.

I should say while I was disappointed, I still thought it was an overall good book. It was well written and I thought Knowles did an incredible job developing the relationship with Finny and Gene. However, I thought a few key moments in the book were rushed or just artificial.

I've heard nothing but great things about this book and was expecting a little more.

Anyone else have a take on this novel?

I barely remember any of this book because I read it so long ago. I do remember finding the whole book rather strange in light of the ending though. I'm not sure if I recall correctly, but there is a death at the end of the novel. Perhaps the deviation from a more typical story line was strange as a freshman high school student.
