It has occurred to me that many on this forum appear to be completely bananas, and if it has occurred to me then it has probably also occurred to you.

I'd be interested to learn what proportion are actually bananas, and what proportion are merely pretend bananas, so - are you bananas?

We HAVE been getting quite a few people lately who seem to be (to use the term that I hate more than almost any other) "mentally ill." There have always been nitnetters who were a bit odd, but this influx is a bit larger than usual.

"Mentally ill" is accurate for extreme cases. "Eccentric" works otherwise, or "differently thoughtted."

And the world of literature would be a lot smaller and blander without those people contributing to it.

While it's true that there have been a couple in recent times who might answer to the description, there are other cases which are noticeable but not to anything like the same degree. A certain amount of naivety, braggadocio and precociousness is noticeable among some of the younger members but that is only to be expected. There is also certain amount of self-absorption among some of the more adult members but, likewise, given the number of people who use the site, there is nothing unusual in that.
So I'd say that there's just about the normal amount of real bananas in the bunch.

I didn't grasp the meaning of a banana when I began from the start of this thread a few days ago. However as I went through the posts that followed one after another, I somehow got the feeling that the thread was a curse on me. I didn't feel particularly angry by the time I first read it, but for reasons beyond me, I suddenly flew into a rage this afternoon that made it so difficult for me to go on with my work. I believe I must drop a few remarks here. To be honest, I have no distinct ideas what I want to say. I do not know if I have been a real banana or not and it is a long story to explain why I do not know it. Let me skip from it and present all of you here a conclusion I made, after reading the posts so far.
A banana is good because it is a banana. If one wants to transform a banana into an apple, a banana becomes neither a banana nor an apple. It is a tragedy for both the banana and the expected apple. It is more of a tragedy for the one who tried his hands on the banana, because he proved himself to be an idiot who knows nothing about either a banana or an apple. However an idiot is quite lucky in these situations because he never did and never shall, have a chance to know himself, being an idiot. All poeple the world over will praise him for the fact that he is an idiot that makes him to be more than ever ignorant about the truth, and he becomes prouder and prouder, until one day he becomes a parodied banana, after he talked so much about a banana.

Though bananas are good in themselves, they go into paths lying different ways. Some of the luckiest among them all love themselves and enjoy the reputation of being bananas, whereas some are not as lucky. They were pushed into some trashcan and had their lives damaged, dying as they were, however not dead at all.

I am a lucky banana. Though I dropped into a disaster once, I've had my revenge upon those who hate bananas. Because of the revenge I've administered upon one, the only one indeed, among some of those who hurt me, for the fact that I am a banana, I am still me. Perhaps I am a banana. Perhaps I am not? I do not think it matters so much, since the line that separated bananas from apples has long disappeared itself. It disappeared because it does not stand to reason, because there has never been such a line in the history of nature. It was a man- made line that is gone, in my eyes.
I am firmly convinced that one can leave the world when he or she no longer enjoys, so it does not really count whether he/ she is a banana or an apple.

Though I once dropped into that trashcan for a month, I was never given psychiatric medicine. The psychiatrist surreptitiously gave an order to some of those nurses, to not let me swallow it, by some tricks of the hands and mouth. I never take psychiatric medicine in my life.
The blow I gave my female parent was not just a kick upon her legs, or some smash upon her face. It was a fatal bow, a real fatal one that almost led her to death. It is a pity that she didn't die. She told me she is some sort of dirty insect that will not die easily, but will spoil our food and everything nice. I was made really flared up by her ugly voice, rendering such ugly sentences. I believe she will die because people who got breast cancer must die, almost without fail. Sooner or later she must die. A few months ago, she reached the last stage of breast cancer. The cancer had spread to her lungs. I thought she was dying, but she walked here and there. Once I had been dreaming all the time what I should wear on the day of her funeral, it will be a wonderful black dress. Of course I will put on make up to convey the idea that I am glad rather than sad. I was considering if I should wear a pair of sunglasses, though I have not reached a decision yet. I do not want to cover an expression of happiness. I want to give all in that funueral a smile that comes from within me.

She does not count, and must die.
