I went to see Sherman Alexie speak yesterday at the National Book Festival in Washington, DC. If you haven't had the chance to see him speak, I highly suggest it. He's a riot. I got him to sign my book "To Fyodor Dostoevsky. You Rock!"
I've read The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, Reservation Blues and Flight. Does anyone else enjoy his works?
On another topic, did anyone else attend the festival?

I really enjoyed his YA novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. Probably my favorite YA novel ever written, and it can definitely be enjoyed by adults.
He is great live. He's one of the only people I've seen hold his own against Stephen Colbert:

Those links are hysterical. You are correct that Alexie was able to really go toe to toe with Colbert. The Indian giver from the first clip made me LOL! I think he made some interesting points about why he does not want to release his second book on Kindle. I have a Kindle and I love it, but I'd still buy his book in paper form. He sounds like quite the story teller.

Yeah, you don't see Colbert tripped up very often. He has one of the quickest wits I've ever seen, so if you can get ahead of him you're pretty damn good.
