Right now Amazon has about 15 Vonnegut novels for the Kindle priced at $3.99. I would like to stock up on a few before price goes up. Any suggestions on his better works (or where to start) would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Slaughter House Five and Breakfast of Champions. See the Rodney Dangerfield movie Return to Shool or something similar to that. Vonnegut has only a cameo role, but it's hilarious.

Depends on what you want. Slaughterhouse Five's a classic, but it's not one of my favorites. Mother Night is awesome, as is Player Piano, but they're quite dark. My favorites are Galapagos and Slapstick - they are outgrageous. Sirens of Titan is good, too. I've never thought that Slaughterhouse Five was representative of his work on the whole. It's representative of his worldview and outlook, but not most of his literature.

Vonnegut was a fatalist, and most of his novels show fatalism. Slaughterhouse Five was partly autobiographical; he was a POW in Dresden, and he survived. I liked the Sirens of Titan and Cat's Cradle quite a bit, but something about his writing bothered me. Maybe he got a little too close to the truth.

Seems like others have the same feelings as me.
Slaughterhouse-Five is his masterpiece and most well known work, and it certainly is a great work of art. But having read most of his books, Sirens of Titan stands out to me as my favorite, along with Galapagos. The only Vonnegut I didnt care for was Jailbird.
What Ive read of his, from best to worst:
Sirens of Titan
Slaughterhouse-Five
Galapagos
Breakfast of Champions
Slapstick
Deadeye Dick
God Bless You Mr. Rosewater
Cat's Cradle
Jailbird
I still really need to read Mother Night and Player Piano, they sound like books Id really enjoy.
