I mainly like classics, or what people now call the classics: Don Quixote, Gargantua and Pantaguel, Life of Johnson.
I am trying to find time to finish The Faerie Queene.
I write short stories.
I think the great books are the great books because they impart genuine wisdom. Since most of the world is stupidity, I need all the wisdom I can get. This is why I try to avoid books than 100 years old unless because there has not been time to judge them. Some, however, attract me when they keep generating buzz on the literary grapevine, like Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
I write short stories and screenplays. I like critiquing workshops, if anyone is interested.
