Beneath starlight
Ancient city
Patina of satin
Emerald moss
Jungle recaptured
Carved stone
Grass shards
Pierce paths
Panther patrolled

Above canopy
Toucans caw
Monkeys swing
Condors soar
Iridescent butterfly
Forest tendrils
Entwine the night
Armadillo rolls
Thunderstorm

Along roads
Cracked Gods
Line temples
Textured smiles
Peer intense
Sapphire eyes
Black glistening python
Coiling across
Parallel boughs

Thanks Delta :)

For a second I thought you were going to say 'thick: like you imagined me to be' - but you wouldn't do that would you???

(I think this is my first ever pastoral poem)

Vibrant and colorful like a rainforest! Lots of beautiful visuals. Perhaps you'd like to expand it by adding some verses to satisfy auditory or olfactory perceptions. Just a little idea.

Best wishes. :)

I like the form, too, two words per line, but you crammed so much into the three verses. Intersting. I do cite you, however, for too much alliteration (kidding!).

Thankyou Aliengirl - I agree it could be improved with your suggestions :) But it might become a completely different poem (this was only a simple idea writ simply - I'll try adding some flavours and see, though no promises)

Thankyou Qimi :)

I hope you're not referring to the

Pierce paths
Panther patrolled

Panther patrols paths was the third line I wrote before it began to develop (I could hardly scrap that!)

I regret to have neglected your poetry Mystyr. I didn't know till now that your writing is as colorful as your visual art, but I suppose everything in life is kind of related :) Then again I'm not very frequently here at present. I sent you a friendy invite... or I'll never be able to respond to your visitor message due to your privacy settings :p

Sure you don't just feel an affinity with this because it's set in your backyard? ;)

Thanks again Max :)
