Scan our love like a barcode
so we both know the ultimate cost.
Place it on the scales at a vegetable stall
so we can weigh what is left
ounce by ounce.
Love, sitting in a used box
for passersby to finger thoughtfully
at a car boot sale.
They uhm then ahh
while we hold our breath,
hoping for a cash offer
that will sum up our total investment
into an acceptable price.

I love this, the imagery of the supermarket, then the car boot sale. (Which I will be doing tomorrow, what a coincidence :) ) I enjoyed it (:

This poem intensifies a feeling inside me about the love we all want in life. This poem does justice to what is intended by the poet. I like it when it the feeling deepens while reading it

I found this poem's portrayal of love, as something that can be weighed and priced, very interesting. The humor is very skillful.

Any pretext is good, isn't it, and results in a piece of jewellery...!
