Gods are warlords
They are striking their daggers in the dark
Against anyone they cannot see
Like in the Mahabharata
Arjuna was won over to kill his relatives and Gurus
We all are killers in the name of a God or religion
Why are sent for killing?
We have an indistinct cause
Think twice before daggering in the dark
It may be your father or son
Your blood speckled blades shine
And dazzle your ken
You get intoxicated by an ideology
In fact ideologies fight, not the individuals
That is why the wise urge to be sheer witnesses
I find the pages of scriptures reddened with blood
And impulses; civilization in the red
My faith has lost home; my God my temple
Should I seek for one?
Which God to worship.
They are striking their daggers in the dark
Against anyone they cannot see
Like in the Mahabharata
Arjuna was won over to kill his relatives and Gurus
We all are killers in the name of a God or religion
Why are sent for killing?
We have an indistinct cause
Think twice before daggering in the dark
