History is an artform, and must be informed by the real like all art. What is a lie to public safety? The duty of a historian is to tell the truth for the greater good of mankind if he cannot lie.

where does this historian get "the truth"? other historians before him and their books? what if some of them lied at one point breaking the hypothetical circle of Truth?

statistically speaking, it is highly probable that this has happened at one point or another, in the course of "history".

Cris.

History is information about the past Historical philosophy is rambling on about the past. What actually gets published about history is somewhere between the two. It would be noce to have the actual information first then to find out what people think about it.

History must have a narrative to be entertaining.
