Literal Versions of 80's music

Lol. My daughter introduced me to literal versions - especially of 80's videos on you tube. I really enjoyed the humour of them and these two are my current favourites Safety Dance and Total Eclipse of the Heart.

My personal favorite is the version of Billy Idol's White Wedding. I nearly peed. Now, whenever I hear ANY of these on the radio, I end up singing along the literal versions. 'Cause my hair needs to be... BLEEEEACHED AGAIN! YEAHHH!'. And then they stare...

For a very short while in the eighties I had a freelance job coming up with ideas for videos for rock songs. I proposed one that required a shoot around Stonehenge, though I did think it might be tough to get permission to do it. The feedback from the production company, though, was not that I'd picked an impractical location.

The producer said, "Yeah, great - but we need to get a chick in stockings in there, and a panther."

And I said, "Uh - there's nothing in the song that suggests a chick in stockings or a panther."

And he said, "Look - you can't go wrong with a chick in stockings, and I know a guy who can lend us a panther next week."
