hi everybody,
I've joined recently mostly to find friends to help me in reading English literature.
"A Scandal in Bohemia" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is one I am reading now. I would be thankful if someone could rephrase or translate the following sentence to a simple one:
"...and that you had a particularly malignant boot-slitting specimen of the London slavey."
Sherlock Holmes is describing how he deduced that Watson "...intended to go into harness." and indeed I don't understand the meaning of harness or to go to harness.
