Hello,
I am a new member here and I wanted to ask you if you could be so kind as to tell me something more about Ian Watt's interpretation of ''Heart of Darkness'' by Joseph Conrad. There is his publication ''Conrad in the Nineteenth Century'' (1979), and I am having a problem in understanding his his analysis of ''two knitters knitting black wool'' where he takes issues with a number of symbolic interpretations of that passage.
I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much.
