The streetlights cast an eerie shadow over me
As I lay in the road, my back against the world
The moonshine casts my face into obscurity,
Silent eyes watching the night unfurl.
A million miles, bright eyes read the night sky
More alone than she lets the world see
Never does she let them see those green eyes cry,
But through the night sky I feel tear stained eyes looking back at me.
The lights go out as the clouds overcome
The starlit world around becomes a blur
As the rain begins to fall, my heart begins to numb,
For when an angel cries, the world cries with her.
I'm Shaz, or Shawn. New to publishing my own works, but I've been writing for a long time, I'd like to know what you think.
