The latest story by Nautilus is set in crumbling Wratchen Castle during the period of the Inner Wars (referenced in The Ghand Chronicles).

The action largely takes place as the Arch Duke and his army are surrounded by Princess Ghand's forces as the castle is under seige. The atmosphere is gritty and realistic (in a fantastic way - with rainbow dragons circling overhead, and the desperate troops lost deep in the dungeons searching through the bloody mud for the ancient tunnel entrance.

It's related in real time and you can feel every heartpounding second thunder by as Ghand's reptilian troops appear first over the hill, followed by the flying serpent riders, through until the drawbridge is splintered.

The scene of molten lead synchronously poured from the parapets onto the scaling army below was a good touch, debilitating over half of the interlopers, and leveling the battleground, before the fresh arrival from Phizzum of General Zhpreng's victorious cavalry geared to flank the Ghand's Lizard Army.

The tense nailbiting action is as gripping as any in the earlier of the series - including Fantom Crystal - and when the door is finally found and what lay within - well I only suggest you don't read this before bed time
