I have to write an essay about 1984 and I have no clue what to write about.

In Geroge Orwell's 1984, the most significant events are mental or psychological; for example, awakenings, discoveries, changes in consciousness. In a well organized essay, describe how Orwell manages to give these internal events the sense of excitement, suspense, and climax usually associated with external action. Provide specific examples (this doesnt have to be a quote just describe the scene so I know where to look for it in the book). Thanks

Well, there is the sex scene. That's symbolic of the hero's awakening, as you might say.

Well...go at it by baby steps.

The instructions talk about "awakenings, discoveries and changes of consciousness." What does each of these terms mean?

Next step-->What are some events in the book that would fall into one or more of these categories?

Finally go back are review these events. Look for those features that give them a "sense of excitement, suspense, and climax usually associated with external action".

If you want to talk these things out, we can help.
