Hello, this is a poll about my city creations for the game Civilization III. You can select the one you think looks the best. These are all ancient, medieval and fantasy towns.

I am looking forward to reading what you think of them. :)

I didn't know you can create your own city designs in Civ III.
I like most of them, especially Mughal and Chinese.

Yes you can, and the community is still alive and currently celebrating its tenth year of existence :)

This time I developed a preference among Scandinavian, Halfling and Anglo-Saxon, but since I can vote only one I will go with the Halfling set. I wish there was a way to make them look bigger, so that I could better appreciate the details :)

should not have voted for Medieval Chinese, the Fengshui is off.

Modeling the chinese buildings was hard, i had to choose mostly pagodas so as to make the architectural elements simpler. This was not like in the Byzantine set where i knew perfectly the intricacies of a Byzantine building ;)

The Pagoda is a religious structure generally. the low thatched roof and simple open concept buildings would be far more common place - likewise, garden and open space around estates was preferred - as for the blue tiling, well, not quite common - found primarily on the later Temple of Heaven in Beijing - brown/blackish roofs would be the norm. Still, it looks kind of cool.

Black would have been my second choice for a roof, but since i had the temple of Heaven anyway and saw some normal houses with blue tiled roofs as well, i decided to use that texture :)

Seems there is not much interest in 3d art ;)

I picked Medieval Venetian. I love the home structure, and some of the insides as well.

I consider it one of my best as well :)

Also it is nice to see the Byzantine one doing well, since i was particularly mindful of being true to reality in that one, and it also has a local church too :D

I voted for the medieval Japanese as it looks quite nice, but I like the Anglo-Saxon village as well, it reminds me a bit of the old Asterix and Obelix comics :D

Yes, it is of that era :) I guess that celtic villages did not look that different from anglo-saxon equivalent ones.
