Ya see this silly mare o’ mine?
She’s gasping now for water
but when I leads her to the trough
she won’t do what she oughta!

And when the vet comes calling round,
with me he’ll lay the blame
and then they’ll take me horse away
in spite of what I’ll claim.

But right is right and wrong is wrong,
and each I tell apart,
I may be left upon me own
but still, I’ll keep me cart.

Is this poem read with a 'twang'? So what you're saying is that you've put the cart before the horse.....Nice rhythm Hawk

No way, the accent's from Kent! lol

"So what you're saying is that you've put the cart before the horse..."

PS, Well spotted :D

This reader can't get 'water' (wah-turr) and 'oughta' (ought-uhh) to rhyme.

That's a fun poem, Hawk.

I do appologise for the assault on your rebellious colonial ear, Jack :D I am, however, most gratified that you enjoyed the fun

I didn't see the ''you've put the cart before the horse.'' as Delta did, I always fail at seeing that stuff. :D

But I enjoyed reading, and I love horses. :D

Nevermind the heathen ear, Hawk. Just so long as you aren't one of those kiwis from News Island.

(Kidding, of course.)

Don't worry Jack, Never even been there :D

You should check out my blog though. It might amuse.

Twota: Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. I understand the French and the Belgians like horses too, medium rare to well done, I believe.

Thanks, JB, but Carling flashbacks? That must have been a serious habit - lol Then again, maybe not - you've missed a bit ;)
