Hey. I'm an amateur writer and poet hailing from Israel. Though, truth be told, I don't do a lot of writing, since I lack the concentration and persistence required for long works, and I've only just now gotten into poetry.
Rather a shame that I spent so much of my life hating poetry, largely due to the literature classes I had in school. I just couldn't see its beauty until it was pointed out to me by a friend.
I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction, though not exclusively. My favorite authors are China Mieville, Neal Stephenson, and George R. R. Martin. I've read a lot of other authors that I've loved, though not with the same consistency. I don't really have a very developed taste in poetry, though I mostly like the rhyming sort.
Oh, and despite my fondness for fantasy (medieval or not), I rather dislike Tolkien, and view him as rather tedious at best.
Anyway, I hope I'll be able to fit in here, and that I will manage to both improve my works, and those of others.
