View Full Version : Trajectories

A vast stone Christmas tree of a building
Viewed from across a night time traffic island
Points a yellow fingered steeple at the moon
And diffracts through the August rain.

Standing for a moment enthralled by the beauty
Of this illuminated edifice,
The automotive hypnotic hum
And sound of wet car tyres spraying the kerb

Lulls me into a strange stupor or reverie
Of thoughts of past and future times.
This resplendent space rocket of a vision
Launches me both back to my childhood

And to my future self simultaneously.
A 'Saturn Five' and festive tree of the soul
Forcing me to be aware of life's trajectories
Past and present: I am over the moon.

Abruptly I re-enter the world of the real
And have to decide exactly where I am going.
The magic being broken, I turn away from the church
Resigning myself to the inevitable splashdown.

Well, why you don''t post this piece earlier? Guess no one will say your works are flat. :) marvelous verve. I love it.

Oh Red-Head. Finally the wine is turning sweet (yet keeping a subtle sting, no doubt).

This reader is so happy, he could pee.

I'm coming over in Feb/Mar next year and praying it will be too cold to rain.

Does one need any stronger proof of the value of the comma?
