I don't know too much about theatre but I've been going to shows more often. However, I only go to those that obviously have a good track record (ancient Greek, Shakespeare, Tenessee Williams etc..). These two plays are being performed near me with 10 dollar ticket prices. Anyone know anything about / seen them that can attest to their quality?
Thanks!

I've never heard of either of them, so I'm not sure what that says about their quality. There's a film director called Werner Herzog, so maybe Amy is a relation. Look at what each play is about and then see if the story interests you.

Nathan the Wise is a German classic, but I've never read it. You probably can't go wrong with that one.

I read and have seen Nathan der Weise (school made me)... well german classic...not quite... it's Aufklährung... and so all the persons in the play are being tought something (by nathan...) well it's not bad... but it ain't fun... you'd propably rahter stick to oscar wilde... or to some shakespear comedy... (gaslight is also pretty good)
or start and try musicals.... little shop of horrors, my fair lady (pygmalion as a play ain't bad but the songs make it even better... though the ending remains wrong in either version..) or if you like it bloody and victorion go and see sweeney todd... ^^
