Well, I thought that was pretty obvious!
Is this somthing proven by the scientific method?
Maybe!
But more importantly, it's a cynical ploy to get people to open this page, because if I wrote a title that 600 kids are dying each day in the worst humanitarian crisis in 30+ years, nobody would click on it.
Alas, that part is true, and it's a low estimate. If you are unaware of the crisis, just read around - Kenya and Somalia are in the grip of the worst drought since WWII and thousands of people are dying, and millions are at risk.
Governments have recognised this [belatedly] but we still need every dollar available to help kids right now.
The best option I've seen is The Independent News UK's plan to give one day's pay to the appeal.
Here is a link to the newspaper page (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/kenya-is-on-the-brink-of-its-own-disaster-2329287.html) with the charity link on. Note this is being run by one of the UK's largest and most-respected newspapers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Independent), so there should be no concerns about security of information.
Go on, just do it. That $100 or $200 will save lives within weeks of you giving it. Give a child an early Christmas present.
Life.
