i would like to lie with you
in a garden of moonflowers
my legs wrapt about your frame
like vines of ivy bent about an old home
tired and frail.
I see the strength in us, a bond
everlasting,
like new paint on that old wooden fence
that keeps us caged, like livestock
from nine til
five,
or some nights,
til dawn.

i want to brush your hair with my fingers
while you fall asleep to the television,
and count the stars on cold winter nights
from our backyard,
and drink
fresh rose tea in stone mugs
warming our hands, and
melting our hearts.

above all, I want to love you
and to be loved by you
until the last moon
wanes.

Sounds tempting :D delicious sentiments expressed with dazzling lyricism, but you might want to change lay to lie.. or you could leave it, treat the blemish as a beauty spot. - lol.

Live and be well - H

Usually allergic to the subject, this reader found this quite palatable.

Beautifully written.

My only quibble is that 1000 years from now when one assimilates this masterpiece one will need to cross-reference facts for the anachronism 'television'.

Eloquent paperleaves. Not steeped in too much romance and related to many soothing images.

It sounds so peaceful and speaks of utter acceptance, day in and day out...
