It has often been said that with this book Dickens "invented" Christmas as we know it. Be that as it may, I have read this book at least once per year since boyhood, I'm now 53, and I think it encapsulates everything good about Christmas time. It also shows the genuine humanity of it's author. One of his shorter books, but easily his best. God bless us every one
