I just finished reading aloud to my sons A CHRISTMAS CAROL. They are 11 and 13.
After we finished the first stave they begged me to keep reading. I had planned to read
one stave a day for the week preceding our Xmas break. We read the whole book in one
evening sitting, and a 2nd sitting the next morning. Someone had given us the 1951
movie version, made in England, which is very true to the book, and we all 3 highly recommend watching it after reading the book. We watched it together the afternoon after we finished the book!!! Anyway, I don't know if
parents have thought about it, but what a wonderful story to read to our children aloud
during the holiday season. I think it's a wonderful story, and one that led my sons and I in a discussion about being a giving person at Christmas, and all the rest of the year.
Please post this to encourage other parents to share this delightful story with their children.
Another suggested story is GIFT OF THE MAGI by O'Henry. The boys loved that too.

Thanks!
Gary Wyatt P.S. Will you email me to let me know if this is posted on your website?
