Anyone else read this?

All I could think after reading it, was a person would really need a lot of wealth and resource and time etc to be able to do this stuff, especially in the 16th or 17th century. It is so complicated. But it is so cool.

I'm not really considering summoning any demons or aerial spirits, but at the looks of it it would take a lot of time and money.

Anyone ever succeed in summoning a demon or an aerial spirit?

Any thoughts on the lesser key of solomon?

Ah, magick with a k. I used to collect these grimoires. Their peculiarity interested me at one time. I can't say I ever evoked a demon though. The Sacred Magic of Abramelin The Mage is one I recall ... you have to spend 6 months in total isolation and prayer, the purpose being to commuicate with your "Holy Guardian Angel". If/when you achieve this, you then supposedly gain the ability to empower *magic word squares* which allow you to do stuff like transform into a raven, recover buried treasure, breath under water, destroy a town etc.

They are quite interesting aren't they. Especially with some of the really in depth details of how to evoke the spirits, the things you must do to prepare yourself etc. I've only read the lemegeton clavicula solomonis so far and snippets of some others but they are defenitely interesting.(how to become invisible, how to know everything, etc.) haha. its great. Nothing i'd ever experiment in really but definitely worth reading because you get to see some of the most creative stuff people have ever come up with religion wise, in my opinion.

Not to mention, a complete reversal of the laws of physics.

The protective circle in which the magus stands and the *triangle of materialization* where the demon appears!

These rituals usually involve fasting, complicated preparation, reciting long ecstatic conjurations etc - and with the four braziers puffing out smoke, it ain't really surprising that the sorcerer falls into an altered state and has hallucinations...

What do you have to do to become invisible?

Bit like the Native Americans and their rituals. People nowadays should cut to the chase and just do acid.

There are a number of ways to become invisible according to a number of different grimoires. One of them involved a ring made of gold that you have to embed certain carvings on it and when you wear it you are invisible (lord of the rings? lol) and then another involves using a human skull and filling it with certain herbs and saying some complicated prayer and if you look in the mirror and you don't see yourself it worked.

That sure is interesting.
