The Mystery of the Godhead

The mystery of the Godhead
The peering light that lathers down my shoulder,
Keeps itself hid from a fools eye

An eye trying to make sense of the world
Peering into his own void
His misunderstanding.

As the scripture saith
So it is; apparently abounding
Gods love behind the veil of shadow.

Those who walk in the darkness
Walks to the unholy alliance
Of his own soul.

And what was said is heard in blindness
To be reached for and grabbed
Like a precious gift to a believer

Who walks in the light beside him
To the holy alliance
Of Gods form.

Latter Day Man

Latter day man, right near the end.
He doesn't even know
His toes against the cliff,
Not the sand.

With his white shirt and tie
A man dressed in Sunday finest,
Fell in love with a another God;
A jealous God watches.

Later day man sent a strong delusion,
Even the preachers
Comfortable in their heart;
Amid a groin Spirit.

The love of self,
Rich man cradled in luxury,
Soon to find it's time
To do without.

The competition is set:
Man against man
Country against country
Go USA!

Ah man dotted in space,
Ego - in the universe!
Building his castle,
A road to limbo.

There is a deep sense of spirituality in both poems but you're not bashing the reader with God either which gives it a balance and a chance for the reader to mull over what you have written. There have been poems posted on here before where I felt they were heavy handed ominous preaching. I much prefer your style Shadows and I will continue reading your posts.
