Somebody famous has died.
My daughter texted that she loved me,
how I wish it was in crayon
on paper.
Dismembered body found on moors,
acid attack on model,
a tennis player won wimbledon.
God admits he does not exist,
a T Rex says he told him so.
Famine in Africa
I empty my plate to aid them.
A very good night to you
says my news reader ,
my heart warms at his personal touch.
Sunny spells says the weatherman,
I don’t trust the bastard.
I remember when I put you to bed
and I spoke to you out loud
without a LOL, a smiley face or frown.
We sang a wandering star,
a wandering, wandering star.
The pound is down against the dollar.
I turn the world off with the button.
I love you my little girl.

Very touching Jer. How nice it would be if life returned to simpler times...

In between all the mish mash troubles of the world there is the memory of your little girl. Very poignant Jerry and yet brutal too as your love is tangled in facts and fiction to sidetrack your love.

the juxtaposition of innocence and gory is brilliant. Quite an affecting piece. Many great lines as well.

Aw Jerry, I knew you were an ol' softie underneath all that Baldy crust! Very sweet.

Beautiful, my friend - and I hope you've shown this to her or will if she's too young to appreciate it now.

Quite a poem, indeed. Taste like a shandy.
