The devastation was devastating

An entire metropolis razed

Mixed in with rubble the crumpled shells

Of cars, jet airliners, satellites

Even when the heavy tanks rolled in

They were screwed up by the vortex

Like origami toys

Those who escaped with their heads

But had lost their minds

Gibbered about the onslaught

Steel girders twisted into balloon animals

Whirled around like flying scythes

Slicing the firmer skyscrapers in half

The cordon was announced

A hundred mile exclusion zone

Increased to two hundred by mid-afternoon

And six hundred by late evening

What was it? What caused it?

The boffins were baffled

Befuddled

Sunspots and solar flares were discounted

Because of its local location

No

It emanated from within

Deep within the planet

But by morning it was over

Without a hint of aftershock

Now here's a happy story about a pig on a skateboard...

Hee hee. Last weekend I was served dinner by a giant, matted pig wearing a coconut bra. Just sayin'.

Why didn't this one get a hundred views? :)

I love this. Do you write full sized books?

Yes, but no-one reads them :)

Thanks for reading and enjoying, Varenne of the 99 posts :)

Now 100. I will read your books if I am ever so lucky.

My Blog? That's a book. It has paragraphs and chapters, and characters, and dialogue, and a plot - and a gripping story too!

It gets a few views, but I'm not sure how many 'reads' because the comments seemed to dry up after the first few entries. One day soon I'll Kindle it (sounds like starting a fire - if it was a 'real book' book maybe that's what people would do...)

p.s. Congrats on you 100th post - glad to be of assistance :)

Thank you! I should throw myself a party to celebrate. I almost didn't want to post more because, as far as numbers go, I think 100 is pretty nice.

It sounds as though your book meets the parameters of being a book. :) Congratulations. I will read it and see if I can summon comments from my brain. I'll try not to want to set it on fire.

There's no medical help for that. I'm afraid you're done for. :(
