My next door neighbour and I
and God were engaged
in a spirited conversation.

My next-door neighbour,
Steve, was concerned
about an older guy up the block
who paid a lot of attention
to some area kids.

There was 4-year old Owen
with his blonde, floppy hair;
5-year old Sora, who breathed amiability
the way others breathe air,
and 2 ˝-year old Nanna,
the still point of the universe.

“I get a creepy feeling,” Steve said,
“the way he seems to light up
when he talks to them.”

“Dude,” I answered, “he’s a grand-father.
All of his kids live out of town.
He misses them.”

We turned to God
for the deciding opinion, but God,
as usual, said nothing.

He wont answer Prince, for He Is God,

Silence is His diplomacy, and doubts His hazy mist,

For we are never sure? Are we?

The Old man can be both a God and a Satan too.

No Sex Offender Registry in Canada?

It might read better to say "about an older guy up the block / and the attention he paid / to some area kids."

I adore the way you describe the children, and you do so in such a wholesome and beautiful way that it serves to reinforce your belief that he is simply a man who is missing his grandchildren.

God is silent, he relies on us, and we, as usual, are so very hapless.

I seem to understand this one fully, which can only mean I am missing something.....

some times we find answers in God's silence.

This seems to be a recurring theme in your work, Socrates. You're much more experienced in life than many of the posters here. Haven't you made your peace with this?
Does anybody make their peace with this?

Thank you V. Jayalakshmi, Everyadventure, Qimissung, Delta and Jack. And as for you, Jerry, if you think you understood this, I surely must have done something wrong!
