Mother alone could create
the sweetest love
the lust of a vulva
the words of Shelley
pornography
a suicidal desire.
Only mother could have us believe
this crap, to ensure we conceive.

What an Oedipal poem - packed with admiration and resentment in a few short lines. Freud would be impressed!

I greatly agree with Delta on this one, loved it. I thought it was brilliant, well done!

It left me puzzled.

Its not oedipal Delta. You have missed which 'Mother' this is.
Miss Adventure with the correct 'Mother' it may make more sense.
Thanks very much Dr.reid

Mother seems to me like a nun, not sure if that's close.

It left me puzzled too, but I'll continue to read it until I figure it out.

Let me think which Mother it could be that creates the illusion of romantic love, the lust of man to the otherwise unattractive vulva, the lust of a woman for an utter bastard, desire and love to a suicidal degree. All so that we should conceive. Which Mother could this possibly be? ............ Where is Hill when you need him :D

It sort of reminded me of a part of a song by The Doors - The End.

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on.
He took a face from an ancient gallery,
and he walked on down the hall.
He went into the room where his sister lived and,
then he paid a visit to his brother,
then he, he walked on down the hall.
he came to a door and looked inside-
"Father" "yes son" "i wanna kill you"
"Mother, I want to. . . .#%*@ youuuuu!!!"

A little bizarre but it was an Oedipal part, reading some comments and the poem again reminded me of this.

Hill late to the party as usual (late-night barbecue)... and I'm with Delta's final guess. Mother Nature - and the primeval drive to go forth and multiply, with all the accompanying angst (and pleasure).

Great little poem btw...

Head still a bit hazy - but aye. Mother Nature behaved herself as well - beautiful sunset and very few midges.
