These handcuffs lock on in my formative years.
They hand sew my clothes from the silk of a Chinese Rhino beetle
You ask me if I mind entrapment and I tell you this:
Ahem.
Here comes my Shakespeare vocal pitch
Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
Tis all the government need, quoth I.
That’s me.
But them?
They’re the super moderators of literacy and only ever answer:
Ladies and Gentleman, the Bronx is burning.
Like I said, Larry! Get off that soap box and fix the car.
But three apples short of a bunch of grapes is the logical outcome.
It's pure Quantum Mechanics 101
Now I gotta sit back and watch the ants swallow my pines.
Clozapine
Olanzapine,
Quetiapine
Uh oh. They’re sticking their jaws into me like needles.
Lord it’s a pain. Such a pain.
Open the trapdoor and let the etymologist through now!
When the oceanic tides overlap all hell will break loose.
They won’t let me move in the same way since 9/11.
Arms weighted, heavy, tearing sinew at the ball.
Hands chained to my waist so I never lose them.
Somebody shake my baby self before it’s too late?
See, they only think they’re talking to me at 165.78 syllables per second
Aha! Do you want to know the really funny part?
I’m processing undeveloped thoughts at 45 RPM!
Or if you want to get technical and report me, 19lb PSI
I say, that's mutiny on the Bounty Sir!
Let’s pretend I was inspired by the earth’s magnetic pull like everyone else.
Up the airy mountain and down the rushy glen stuff.
I have seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and that makes
Any theory they put forward totally obsolete
Especially while I still got boxes and boxes of ink refills.

As the title suggests, some of this is incomprehensible. I was totally digging the Macbeth allusion with the Shakespearean excerpt, and, in a way, this feels like it good me a good Tom O' Bedlam in King Lear if Edgar had ever descended further into a false insanity.

The poem naturally has good parts (it might bewilder you that I'm reading with an analytic eye, especially if you intended this to be a joke, or fun). Especially noteworthy is how the poem descends further and further into insanity until the poem ends in futility, ultimately enforcing the phrase of "mind entrapment" in the third line. While the poem to others may seem an example of raving through text, I think it's very noteworthy, especially because it's an artistic creation of degraded mental conditions that just so happens to enforce the, to me, subject in line 3.

Sneaky, sneaky.

Thanks IceM. I didn't do it for fun but what impression such deteriorating babble might give the reader. Your comments are appreciated.

I initially also wanted to call nurse to fetch the screens... but it's actually an amazing piece, Delta. You have an unique voice, and this is up there with your best.

Thanks Hill. I'm considering it as a piece of staged dialogue

I actually pictured it in my mind as a performance piece. Good luck with that approach.

Isn't staged dialogue a performance piece? (pardon my ignornance btw)

It is - I was confirming my agreement with you.

I like this bit of babble

What are you on exactly? How much did it cost? Most importantly - where did you get it!?

I must admit, I do rather like this one. I'm not on anything except an overdose of Lit-nutties, I think!

It may be self-described as "babble," but it does make sense from a language standpoint. Lively mixtures of sounds and visual text (how the lines are arranged on the page), and it's not totally devoid of "meaning": could be construed as "showing" temporary dementia or-- conversely, sly wordplay -- how 'bout the pun on "'pines."

This one entertains even as it disturbs the reader.
How do you do that, Delta?
