I only a few moments ago decided to register, but already i worry that were I to post any of my own writing, how am I to feel secure in knowing that my rights concerning the laws of copyright are not to be infringed upon? Can anyone more experienced than I in this arena offer me any comfort?

Probably not.

If you're looking to be a "real" published author, I wouldn't post any of what you hope to get published on this site. I think there's quite a few posters who only post some of their stuff, and this is probably the best route.
