View Full Version : At Church with Montesquieu
My God
is the god of solid geometries,
the god of red giants and white dwarfs.
He winks at me across the universe.
I smile knowingly,
though the joke is over my head.
My God
cannot hide.
He is the three sided god of triangles.
Because I am, He must be.

Liked it, hackfish. 'Specially 'he winks at me...'

A wonderful God, here... the power and intellect to create stars, but the individual attention and sense of humor implied in that wink.
I enjoy the economy of your poetry, hack.
Thanks for the reads. I edited it some.
It was inspired by a quote attributed to
Charles le Secondat, the Baron of the
title title. It is, "If the triangles made
a god, he would have three sides."

a neat little poem. It's structure and diction suggests simplicity, but the ideas behind it are much more complex. just like geometry, am I right guys? :brow: anywaaay, I'll definitely be reading more of your stuff!
