Since it was recently Midsummer's Eve, or the summer solstice in my corner of the world, I began thinking about Midsummer's Eve and doing some research as to the historical traditions of this time of year. It is a very fascinating subject to me and I would love to learn more. I am especially interested, however, in finding out how Midsummer and/or Midsummer's Eve/the summer solstice has played out in literature. What books include mention of this, or are centered around this day? I wasn't sure how or where to begin looking for books with this subject. The only one I could think of off the top of my head was Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which I have read and love, but any other thoughts on this subject or particularly book suggestions would be appreciated . . .
