Pick your favourite book and just enjoy reading it. If you only read a book for the sake of reading it it's going to take ages to get through. Keep reading the ones you might like and you'll start reading faster even though you mightn't notice it.

Also, try not to worry too much about how fast you're reading. If all you're doing is worrying about all the books you have to get through, you'll never appreciate the one you're reading.

I find in this digital age of information overload that I actually have to remind myself to slow down and read for comprehension when I'm reading actual literature. I'm so used to speed reading or skimming to gain the most information, when I real real books it's for pleasure and need to remind myself sometimes to just enjoy the ride and let the words sink in.

from time to time some people will talk about "numbers'' and how many they read a month or year and it's great but some people just don't read as much, as fast or whatever. The most important thing is to enjoy what you read and get the most out of it.

Indeed you should simply read what interests you. Aside from that, I only suggest reading more often so that you develop a sense of language and anticipation to read with as great a fluidity as you can.

Read in short, intense bursts instead of at a medium pace for a long time.

Well it works for running...

Thanks for the tips guys! I will try them. I read in English (not native) and my native language too. I think my problems are rather concentration problems. My attention glances away again and again no matter what i read. Well i might be able to change a bit how often my attention is tricking me. :)
