“We the mortals touch the metals”
All daylong I hear talk about the human race being the best species on the planet.
We are dominant.
We are orderly.
We are kings.
But the line that calls us mortals denounces the afterlife we have created for ourselves and humbled us to the same level mother nature is on.
The balance needed in life between accepting facts and transcending them is skewed when we consider ourselves above the path of nature, unable to respect dogs or crabs with the same survival instinct that drives capitalism.
The balance is restored when we’re reminded of our weaknesses: our skin is thin, our lives short, organically composed and organics decompose.
We are not above the home we are on.
“Are you too good for your home?"
Are you better than any man?
