A dace is any of a number of species of small fish. The unmodified name is usually a reference to the Common Dace (Leuciscus leuciscus).

perfect form for the subject - a good stretch of poem, flowing strongly.

One or two places I'm not sure of the syntax -whether a clause goes with the previous or the subsequent phrase - due to the absence of punctuation.

But I am not sure that matters a whole lot.

One line that baffled me completely...
"That will put into play is sorely evident"
